Our story
The legend of the Cove
Long before the village grew up around it, Cadboro Bay was a smuggler's kind of shoreline. Quiet water, deep fog, and a straight run across the strait made it a favourite landing for rum-runners slipping past the patrols with barrels in the hold.
The tavern keeps that spirit without the risk. Since 2005, Brian and Joanne Dunn have run Smugglers' Cove as the village local: a British style room with a second floor deck, twelve taps, and a kitchen that treats pub classics like they matter.
Come for the fish and chips, stay for the room. There is always a seat, a story, and something cold coming off the taps.
